My name is Sara Malinka and I am part of the University of South Florida Urban Teacher Residency Partnership Program
Here is a little bit about myself and why I am where I am today:
Educators are tasked with the incredibly challenging, yet simultaneously rewarding job of educating the youth, by giving them the means, motivation and opportunity to learn what is necessary to succeed in not only a career, but in life. That being said, I have always wanted to have a career in which I could truly make a difference.
Likewise, I was in high school when I realized that is the educated youth who hold the power to change the future. Due to the fact that teachers are given the prominent responsibility of educating the youth, then teachers are essentially accountable for changing and shaping the future. Therefore, being an educator is a huge responsibility, and I cannot wait to have the opportunity to equip students with the vital knowledge necessary to make great changes in the world.
Furthermore, after learning about USF Urban Teacher Residency Partnership Program (TRPP) I knew I would become an outstanding educator by going through the Program. The year- long residency would provide me with imperative information and experience that I could not learn by simply reading a book or listening to a lecture. In addition, the focus on technology integration would make me a contemporary, (or even progressive) more efficient teacher in all subjects.
Essentially, I want to make a difference in the world we live in and that starts with making a difference in my amazing student's lives. Because of this program, I am now surrounded by people who share my same burning passion. Without a doubt in my mind, together we will make a difference.
